Raised dog feeders

Raised dog feedersPerhaps you’ve heard that raised dog feeders are a good option for both owners and pets alike. However, this good choice could turn into a very poor choice very quickly if you don’t get the right size.

Just as humans come in all kinds of different shapes and sizes, so do dogs. That means that while all dogs can reach a bowl that is placed on the kitchen floor, not all dogs can reach every height of these feeders.

Luckily for the Dachshunds and Chihuahuas of the world, these feeders can be purchased specially made for them, or any other size of dog.

So, how can you know what size of a feeder you should buy for your dog? Simply look at the words below and you may be able to find what your dog needs to be able to eat normally and without problem.

However, the first thing you need to keep in mind is that even the same breeds of dogs can need different heights of these feeders. Specifically, you need to get smaller feeders for female dogs and a larger one for the male dogs.

Obviously, you should look at your own dog and consider its specific needs before purchasing. But, if your dog seems to be about average, the subsequent guidelines might be good for you to follow.

The larger kinds of dogs typically need feeders that are between 16-20 inches tall. The dogs that need feeders that are these sizes include German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, and Labrador Retrievers.

Other smaller dogs can use these as well. Typically the sizes for these kinds of dogs are between 4-8 inches. The breeds of dogs that may use these sizes of feeders are Dachshunds, Yorkshire Terriers, Beagles, and Chihuahuas.

Raised dog feeders can be quite helpful and in addition to this, they are also stylish and add a more modern look to your home.

If, as you look at the sizes needed, you are thinking that it may not be the right size for your dog, you should remember that the height of the bowl that is placed into the feeder is usually around four inches itself. This adds to the total height.
